Welcome to Bury Metro Radio Car Club

The club was established in 1984 and became known as Bury Model Shop Buggy Club. In 1991 became Bury Metro RCC when we moved to the Goshen Sports Centre and a purpose built outdoor track was built. The track now consists mainly of Astro-Turf.

Racing is held most Sunday’s with people arriving from 11.45 am. This allows us time to set up and enter drivers onto the computer that controls the 5 minute races, which commence around 1pm. We try to finish for 5.00pm, daylight and weather permitting. Numbers permitting, everyone gets 4 heats, and a final, with drivers competing against others of a similar ability wherever possible.

Permitted Cars

We race 1/10th scale, electric or nitro powered buggies and stadium trucks. We also cater for the new generation of Micros and electric one eighth, but the vast majority of our members race electric buggies. We race 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive in separate classes when numbers allow. Generally there are more 2 wheel drive cars in attendance, but nationally 4 wheel drive does seem to be going through something of a boom at present.

Club Membership

Club membership costs £5.00 per year, running from January 1st to December 31st.  Racers must join the British Radio Car Association (BRCA), which can be done through the club, and costs £13.00 per year. Membership of the BRCA provides you with 3rd party insurance cover and also allows you to enter National or Regional race meetings if you so wish. Being a member of the BRCA lets you have a say in the way your sport is run.
